Peace Path

I don’t know about you, but I get distracted by the continuous flood of information bytes coming at me during the course of any given day via the marvelous “broadband” technological advances developed to “enhance” my lifestyle. I once read an excerpt from a study conducted in the 1960’s predicting what the average American lifestyle would be like by the early 1990’s as a result of computer technology. Some of the conclusions were a shorter work week, increased productivity, and a substantial decrease in stress within our culture. Hmmm? A slight miscalculation may have occurred, and I wonder just how much more time and programming is required before we reach this technology-driven nirvana?

Jesus promised us peace and joy, but few actually experience it, including most of us who claim to be His followers. The foundation of our stress and worry stems from one primary root, which is the failure to carve out proper rest and quiet time with Him. This is the fuel that restores us mentally, physically, and spiritually.   He “hardwired” us to reach our greatest potential in life as we spend quality time with Him. When we discover, embrace, and incorporate this into our lives as the primary fabric of our inner being, a wonderful metamorphosis occurs; we experience life as it was intended.

Genuine trust leads us to peace, rest, hope, and joy, the ingredients for better mental, spiritual, and physical wholeness. In brief, time spent with and trusting God leads to real life.  There is a narrow path that leads to this abundant life, an ancient, but proven one. Unfortunately, few people choose to follow it. The Shepherd of our souls will lead us to more than a mere passing experience, He leads to life.

Winston Churchill once said, “The further backward you look, the further forward you can see.” If you are willing to pause and look back for a moment, the ancient path is waiting your discovery. If you dare to step out and follow its course, it possesses the power to generate a fruitful and fulfilling life.

More Tomorrow

This path leads to an access on the Belize River that the entire village of More Tomorrow uses. It is the place they go to get water for small gardens, wash, bath, and swim. Currently the village is experiencing a drought. That could change soon and we hope it does, but during dry times like these if the village had a small water storage tank it could make life much safer and easier. We hope we are close to seeing that happen. You can help us.
